Hello!
I've made a vow to update this page more often. This is part one of an engagement shoot we recently did for a lovely couple at Rainbow Haven Beach. Unfortunately we ran out of light a bit too soon so we're going to get together with them again this weekend (tomorrow!) to get a few more shots of them. Until then, here's a few highlights!

Hey guys!
Just finished shooting some family portraits of my good friend Vanessa and her family at beautiful Conrad beach. It was actually my first time at this beach and I enjoyed it there. It seems like a great place to go back to (tho parking could be a hassle during hot days). Had a lot of fun doing these pictures and running around chasing the boys (boys will be boys you know).
July is going to be a busy month for me. Two weddings to shoot plus some more family photos to shoot. In a nutshell, something is going on every weekend of July. Plus trying to plan for my own wedding!
Here are a few of the pictures from Vanessa and Jason's shoot!
New HDR technique and practice shots

We're basically all moved into the new house now. The space we will be using as a studio when need be is sitting right behind me with numerous lights set up. Unfortunately at the moment there's also a ton of boxes waiting to go into the attic so it'll be a few more days before we test out the new space.
In the meantime during the move I had been practicing with a new HDR techinque I had learned about. I really love HDR images, they feel more like "art" to me. We had taken a trip out to Peggy's Cove and Prospect Village back in April. The day was freezing and crazy windy, but managed to get some neat shots never-the-less. The HDR of the lighthouse was actually very hastily taken, only includes 3 exposures. I spent quite some time on the one of the water however. It was so windy that the tripod ended up moving quite a bit in between pictures.
I also took a few shots of the new house before we moved a whole lot of stuff in and converted them to HDR's. Some of them are definitely over done, I really just did them like that for comparitive reasons. But by all means, you tell me. These types of pictures sell houses all the time. Which ones do you think look the best?
Lastly - I ran out to catch the "super" moon the other weekend. I didn't get out to much later then I had hoped. I wanted to capture the graveyard with the moon over top of the stones. The moon had gotten a bit too high to do that except for the one there. Those are also HDR's. The black and white one was an image I was just trying something out with and ended up kind of liking it.
Website Upgrades/Overhaul

As you can see - the website has been given a significant upgrade. I basically just finished migrating everything from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5. This will allow us to add quite a bit more functionality to the site. In the process of doing this we also changed the over all look of the site. All that pink is now gone, and I think the site has a bit cleaner interface now. Check it out, let me know if anything is broke.
I have a whole bunch of photos almost ready to post from Peggy's Cove this past weekend and from a Moosehead game we went to as well. It's just been very hectic lately trying to get everything moved to the new house. But we're getting there. I'll make sure I get those photos's posted up soon.
And don't forget for the month of may all our wedding pacakges include *2* photographers and a photo booth for you guests to take goofy pictures in during the supper/reception for FREE. After may, our packages will mostly still include this, but the prices will be going up a bit. So take advantage of this offer and book now!
